The city of Mentor continues to enhance its infrastructure with a series of major paving projects scheduled for 2025. Known for its commitment to well-maintained roadways, Mentor is preparing for significant repaving efforts to improve safety and efficiency for residents and businesses alike.
Upcoming Asphalt Repaving in Mentor
Stretching over 245 miles, Mentor’s public streets are overseen by the Building & Engineering Department, ensuring proper maintenance and upgrades. Road projects are meticulously planned years in advance, with funding secured through state grants playing a key role in scheduling. Over the past decade, millions of dollars in state funding have supported major repaving efforts, including work on SR-306, SR-615, and Heisley Road.
With 2025 on the horizon, the city has announced its latest round of paving projects. Here’s what’s in store:
Annual Street Repair Program
Mentor’s Street Repair Program ensures neighborhood streets remain in top condition. Every two years, roads are assessed using a standard formula developed by the Department of Transportation (ODOT). Streets are then prioritized based on their condition ratings and available funding. In 2025, approximately $1.8 million will be invested in resurfacing and repairing 18 asphalt and 12 concrete neighborhood streets.
